Kelley Drye Team Named Runners-Up of Law.com’s Litigator of the Week
The Kelley Drye team, led by partner Bill Jackson, was named runner-up for Law.com’s Litigator of the Week for their work alongside the Maryland Attorney General’s office to secure a $2.5 billion settlement with the owners and operators of the M/V Dali, which struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore in March 2024. The team, which included Philip Robben, Andrew Homer, Lana Rowenko, Melissa Byroade, Ivan Morales, Julia Schuurman, Maria Pimienta, Tim Hopper, and Ken Blankenship, was able to secure the largest legal recovery in maritime history.
Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown told Law.com, in their article on the settlement, “This $2.25 billion settlement reflects the full measure of accountability we were able to secure from the vessel interests.” Kelley Drye’s co-counsel in the litigation included members of the Maryland Attorney General’s Office as well as counsel from Liskow & Lewis APLC, Downs Ward Bender Herzog & Kintigh PA, The Lanier Law Firm, and Partridge LLC.
