Kelley Drye has been selected as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of Soft Surroundings LLC. Soft Surroundings and three affiliated debtors filed for Chapter 11 protection with the Southern District of Texas on September 10, 2023.

Soft Surroundings runs a nationwide chain of retail stores and a direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform for women’s apparel, home, shoe and accessories merchandise. The case is premised on a restructuring support agreement with equity sponsor Brentwood Associates and “100 percent of the Debtors’ capital structure,” the company’s DTC business would be transferred to an affiliate of Coldwater Creek, followed by a subsequent wind-down of the debtors’ brick-and-mortar locations through a plan of reorganization.
