Special Counsel Daniella Carelli was quoted by The Food Institute in its Food and Beverage Mergers and Acquisitions report. The report examines how M&A activity is regaining momentum heading into 2026, with a sharper focus on strategic fit, execution, and long-term value creation.

Daniella told The Food Institute that, ​“although we saw more interest from buyers than closings in 2025, Q4 indicates 2026 has all the potential to be the bright turning point.” She also highlighted how sociopolitical dynamics are influencing M&A activity, noting that ​“consumers are craving authentic global brands that expand their culture amidst a backdrop of political policies targeting ethnic groups.”

“It’s more than the products – it’s the brand’s ethos, mood, and mission that are attractive to these consumers seeking to exercise protest,” she added, explaining that brands aligning with these values ​“may potentially see accelerated deals.”
