Advocating for Children

Helping to ensure that the voices of children are heard and to advocate in times of crisis for their safety and wellbeing.

Our work

Legal representation of children raises unique issues and challenges, especially for children seeking asylum in the United States who must navigate our complicated immigration system. Kelley Drye works with clients to increase their chances of accessing relief via immigration proceedings to ensure that no child stands alone in their search for protection. We partner with legal service organizations, such as KIND (Kids in Need of Defense), whose sole focus is to help keep children safe and families whole.

The guardianship process was time intensive and emotionally taxing for our client, so it was wonderful to see the joy and relief she and her family felt after the judge granted guardianship.”

It is significantly less likely for a client to succeed in court pro se, especially if English is not their native language. This is where pro bono service can make a difference – all actions, big and small, can improve someone’s life.”
