Greg Pruden’s practice focuses on complex commercial disputes, government investigations, and regulatory enforcement, including False Claims Act and privacy and data security litigation. He represents public and private companies and individuals in a broad range of civil disputes and in proceedings involving the Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other state and federal agencies, guiding clients from investigation through trial and appeal.

Greg has secured declinations from the DOJ and SEC in multiple investigations, including cases involving the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and alleged securities fraud. He also defends clients in privacy and data regulatory enforcement matters, assisting clients facing scrutiny over data practices and consumer protection obligations. In addition, he provides pragmatic advice to clients on litigation avoidance in these same spaces, helping them to meet their business objectives while minimizing risk.

In his commercial practice, Greg handles disputes involving breach of contract, trade secrets, unfair competition, securities, and civil fraud, with experience taking matters through trial and appeal in state and federal courts nationwide.

His clients span financial institutions, healthcare providers, and public and private companies across industries such as manufacturing, consumer products and retail, technology, infrastructure, and professional services.

Greg was a judicial clerk to the Honorable Lawrence E. Kahn, District Judge, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.

Representing major international health and beauty company in breach of contract lawsuit against a manufacturer pending in the Southern District of New York.

Representing entertainment and media company in FTC enforcement proceeding and follow-on class action lawsuits in federal court.

Representing tech startup in false advertising and misappropriation of confidential information dispute.

Obtained dismissal, affirmed on appeal, of False Claims Act action against manufacturer and installation contractor of electrical equipment.

Member of the trial team that litigated two civil fraud cases against financial institutions to full defense verdict, including one award of attorneys’ fees, including as first chair of six fact witness and two expert witness examinations.

Defended healthcare providers in various qui tam actions and internal and government investigations, presenting findings to government agencies and internal business teams.

Provided strategic advice to private equity and hedge funds regarding complex corporate governance issues and post-merger disputes.
