Website Accessibility: Understanding the ADA for E-Commerce
Partner Gonzalo Mon contributed to a Zmags article in Internet Retailer entitled “Website accessibility: Understanding the ADA for e-commerce.” The first installment of a two-part series, the article discusses the application of the Americans with Disabilities Act to e-commerce sites. This has been a hot topic in recent years. Since January 2015, more than 300 lawsuits have been filed in or removed to federal court relating to website accessibility, and that number continues to grow. The DOJ has also entered into several settlements with companies, requiring the companies to make certain “reasonable modifications” to ensure that people who are blind can access the sites. The article provides some tips for companies to avoid these challenges. In addition to the second installment in the series, Gonzalo will be working on a webinar with Zmags.
