This article is the second of a two part series on conducting internal investigation interviews. It discusses best practices for interviews and different interview techniques, including the disjointed, and seemingly unorganized style of the fictional gumshoe, Lt. Columbo. The article also provides pointers regarding using a note taker, documents, and open ended questions during the interview and some thoughts on the best ways to deal with an uncooperative witness.
