Sophie Miller is an associate in the firm’s Environmental Law practice. Sophie focuses her practice on environmental matters such as emerging contaminants and natural resource damages. Her practice encompasses environmental litigation on behalf of public-sector clients relating to contamination, natural resource impacts, and legal violations, alongside guiding state agencies and private clients on evolving regulatory initiatives.
Sophie diligently represents her clients, striving to achieve results that align with their objectives. Currently, Sophie serves on multiple teams that represent states and territories in cases related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), both in standalone lawsuits and in multidistrict litigation. Additionally, Sophie works on teams handling non-PFAS related natural resource damages cases for states and territories, and environmental litigation for private clients.
In addition, Sophie maintains a pro bono practice, focusing on immigration.
Prior to joining Kelley Drye, Sophie taught English in Bydgoszcz, Poland as a Fulbright Scholar. While attending Tulane Law School, she worked for Tulane Law’s Immigration Law Clinic, focusing on obtaining visas for victims of crime. She also served as a member of the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law, and authored an article examining a recent decision by the International Court of Justice that was selected for publication.
Sophie holds an undergraduate degree in Environmental Biology from Tulane University, where her research on an evolutionarily important Alaskan fish was published in the Journal of Parasitology.
