Pelatiah (Pelly) Bickford

Pelatiah (“Pelly”) Bickford focuses his practice on all aspects of labor and employment law, including litigation, counseling, and compliance.

Pelly has broad employment litigation experience, having served as sole associate on numerous matters for corporations, including Fortune 500 companies, in federal court, state court, and arbitration. He has defended depositions in complex wage and hour class actions, drafted motions for summary judgment and motions to compel arbitration, and prepared mediation briefs resulting in favorable settlements. Pelly also has significant experience responding to and serving discovery, interviewing witnesses, and obtaining witness declarations in class action cases.

In addition to his litigation practice, Pelly regularly counsels clients on employment compliance matters, including employee handbooks, workplace policies, paid sick leave compliance, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation requests, and termination decisions. 

Before joining the firm, Pelly served as in-house counsel at Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization, active in all 50 states and more than 90 countries, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people affected by poverty or emergencies. Prior to that, Pelly interned with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Los Angeles, where he co-mediated employment disputes involving claims of workplace harassment and discrimination. Pelly also served in the United States Army with the 5th Battalion, 52nd Air and Missile Defense Regiment, earning a secret security clearance and receiving an honorable discharge upon completion of his service.
