Nathan Verrilli is a litigation associate with a diverse commercial litigation practice that includes antitrust claims, consumer-protection claims, class action litigation, fraud, securities agreements, and commercial contract disputes. He also represents clients in matters involving regulatory compliance, civil investigative demands, white-collar criminal defense, and governmental and internal investigations. Nathan serves clients across a wide array of industries, including banking, financial services, private equity, consumer products, nutritional science, cosmetics, and retail.

As a member of the Firm’s Class Action Litigation Group, Nathan defends clients in putative consumer class actions under various state and federal laws involving false advertising claims, breach of warranty claims, Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) claims, and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) claims related to auto-dialed calls, advertising faxes, and texts.

Nathan assists clients at every stage of litigation in both federal and state courts. His experience includes drafting and responding to pleadings, serving discovery requests and navigating discovery disputes, reviewing document productions, participating in witness preparation, and drafting dispositive motions. He is also a contributor to the Firm’s TCPA Tracker Newsletter, offering updates on significant TCPA case developments and rulemaking by the Federal Communications Commission.

Previously, Nathan worked at the Seton Hall Law Center for Social Justice in the Impact Litigation Clinic, where he drafted an amicus curiae brief in support of a grant of certiorari at the U.S. Supreme Court in a voting rights case and successfully argued before the Second Circuit on behalf of an incarcerated client seeking redress for violations of his constitutional rights. In a sweeping victory for the client, the Second Circuit vacated the District Court’s dismissal of three of the client’s civil rights claims and vacated the entry of summary judgment against the client on a fourth claim. Nathan was also a judicial intern for The Honorable John Michael Vazquez in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and a legal intern at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey.

Nathan is active within the Firm’s pro bono practice, representing a civil rights plaintiff bringing § 1983 and Monell claims for violations of her First and Fourth Amendment rights. Nathan also maintains a portfolio of pro bono immigration clients seeking grants of asylum after facing persecution and violence in their native countries.
