Michael Kerwin is the assistant director of Georgetown Economic Services (GES), an economic consulting subsidiary of Kelley Drye. Mr. Kerwin and the GES team provide economic analysis to organizations engaged in international trade, manufacturers challenged by import competition, and businesses facing difficult antitrust, environmental and commercial litigation. He has worked in furtherance of his client’s interests before various agencies of the federal government, including the U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Customs Service and Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and in support at the U.S. Court of International Trade.

Michael has served as an advocate in both written pleadings and oral testimony for clients in industries that include carbon and specialty steel, cast iron, nonferrous metals, pipe and fittings, processed metals products, agricultural commodities, processed food products, packaging, construction materials, chemicals, electrical transmission equipment and consumer electronics. He offers his clients practical capabilities in reviewing their financial, sales and operational information in order to quantify their position. His work has included the investigation and interpretation of issues pertaining to international trade, corporate finance, foreign currency exchange, market analysis, pricing, channels of distribution and manufacturing processes.

Michael also works with law firms and other organizations to help identify issues, shape technical and public policy positions, and strengthen their litigation cases or competitive positions. Trade associations also rely on him for global and U.S. market research, international trade data and statistical indicators regarding developments and trends in their market segments.

As co-author of The GATT Uruguay Round: A Negotiating History (1986-1992), Antidumping (Kluwer Law and Taxation Publishers), Michael is a published thought-innovator in public policy, international trade and government. His publication is one of the most complete works on the developments preceding the final conclusion of the Uruguay Round, and serves as a comprehensive reference for historians and specialists in international and/or commercial law.
