Gonca Cardak Demirci

Gonca Cardak Demirci is an Export Control Specialist in the firm’s International Trade practice. Gonca advises clients on ITAR and EAR licensing, jurisdiction and classification determinations, voluntary disclosures, and internal investigations. drawing on prior service with the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and two of the nation’s leading defense contractors.   

Gonca draws on her prior service with two of the nation’s leading defense contractors where she led internal investigations, prepared voluntary disclosures, and managed the end-to-end export licensing lifecycle. She also handled licensing strategy, export and import applications, and commodity jurisdiction and classification. 

Her government experience includes serving as a Compliance Specialist with the U.S. Department of State’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) Enforcement Division, where she managed voluntary and directed disclosures and coordinating with BIS, ATF, Customs and Border Protection, the Department of Justice, and the FBI on shared-equity compliance cases. She also served as an Export Compliance Specialist within the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security, Office of Export Enforcement, conducting intelligence analysis in support of export license reviews and enforcement investigations.
