Tom Rybarczyk Quoted by KQED on the Sentencing of Former Rohnert Park Police Officers
Partner Tom Rybarczyk was quoted in a KQED article covering the sentencing of two former Rohnert Park police officers convicted in a scheme to steal and resell marijuana seized during Highway 101 traffic stops.
The article examined the differing prison sentences imposed on the former officers and the broader accountability issues raised by the Northern California corruption case.
Tom, a former federal prosecutor, noted that “It does happen that you cooperate down,” in reference to one defendant receiving sentencing consideration for cooperating with prosecutors.
He also commented on the challenges former law enforcement officers may face while incarcerated, stating, “Any time for a police officer in custody is actually a significant amount of time. People in custody do not like police officers.”
