The Wall Street Journal Quotes Partner Paul Rosenthal on Complaints against Chinese Steelmakers
Partner Paul Rosenthal was quoted in the Wall Street Journal article “Steelmakers in U.S. to File Complaints Over Alleged Tariff Evasion by Chinese Competitors.” Steel producers in the U.S. are filing complaints with the Commerce Department, alleging Chinese steelmakers have been routing metal shipments through Vietnam to avoid U.S. import tariffs. The petitions are backed by U.S. Steel Corp., Nucor Corp., AK Steel Holding Corp. and ArcelorMittal. Mr. Rosenthal, who represents ArcelorMittal, noted that, “With all the new tariffs, you’re going to see more attempts at circumvention. And we’re going to be very vigilant about addressing them.” He added that China is “not the only country attempting to circumvent.”
