The Miami Herald Notes Georgetown Economic Services Report on the Reptile Industry
An economic study conducted by Georgetown Economic Services (GES) was mentioned in the Miami Herald article, “Bid to Curb Nationwide Snake Sales Stalls.” The article discusses a proposal to ban the import and interstate sale of Burmese pythons and eight other large exotic snakes. GES, a subsidiary of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, produced an economic study finding that listing these species as injurious would cost the reptile industry about ten percent of its revenue every year and cost thousands of cottage industry jobs.
