Summer Associate Receives Pro Bono Fellowship and Volunteers for SBLS
Summer Associate Reena Ganju was the 2002 recipient of the Kelley Drye Pro Bono Fellowship, which is offered to one summer associate each year. Since its inception in 2000, the fellowship has allowed Kelley Drye summer associates to split their time at organizations such as the Legal Aid Society and Amnesty International/USA. This summer, Reena volunteered her time at South Brooklyn Legal Services (SBLS) in the governmental benefits division. SBLS provides legal services, information and counseling in civil cases to low income individuals in Southern and Western Brooklyn. SBLS focuses on ways to effectively serve the community and strives to empower the financially disadvantaged so that they are able to identify and tackle the issues that can lead to poverty.
