Partner Michael J. Coursey Quoted in Bloomberg Article on Food Producers’ Suit
Bloomberg quoted partner Michael J. Coursey in an article, “Insurers Sued on Claim of ‘Dumped’ Chinese Crawfish.” The article discussed the lawsuit filed by five U.S. food producers against a group of insurance companies, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, for issuing customs surety bonds that “allegedly allowed Chinese producers to ‘dump’ low-cost honey, crawfish tail meat, canned mushrooms and fresh garlic on the market.”
“‘Without these customs surety bonds, the importers could not have brought in and sold the Chinese goods in the U.S. market at steeply dumped prices,’ lawyer Michael Coursey of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, which represents the U.S. producers, said today in a statement.”
