Partner Kathleen W. Cannon Quoted in American Metal Market and Metal Bulletin Article on Chinese PC Strand ITC Ruling
American Metal Market and Metal Bulletin articles titled “Chinese PC Strand Hurt US, ITC Rules,” discussed the unanimous ruling by the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) that the imports of pre-stressed concrete (PC) strand from China – a construction product made from wire rod – are being subsidized and have injured the U.S. market. As a result, the Commerce Department will issue antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of this product from the Asian nation.
“We are pleased with the results of the commission’s decision because the PC strand imports have engaged in chaotic pricing in the U.S. market,” said Ms. Cannon, who serves as counsel to the domestic industry. “We hope these remedial duties will restore some discipline to the pricing in the market so that the industry can recover from the injury it suffered.”
