Partner Julian Solotorovsky Quoted Regarding Honest Services Law in Blagojevich Case
Partner Julian Solotorovsky was quoted in an article, “Law Used to Indict Blagojevich Challenged as Vague,” which was published in multiple news outlets such as Yahoo! News, The Boston Herald, The Chicago Sun Times, NPR.com and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. The article focused on the “honest services” statute in the corruption charges being brought against impeached Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. The article also discussed the poor definition of the statute which makes it illegal for officials, executives, and others to deprive those who they serve of the “intangible right to honest services.” There are currently two separate cases challenging the law pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.
