Partner Becca Wahlquist was quoted by The Wall Street Journal in “To Stop Robocalls, Parties Need to Understand Who Is a Robocaller.” The article discusses the ongoing lack of clarity over what constitutes a robocaller after the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that phone companies can automatically block more robocalls. Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) companies can face steep fines per violation.
“I can’t believe clients are getting hit with $500 to $1,500 per call [under the TCPA], and we still don’t know what it is we are supposed to be using,” said Becca.
