Law360 Lists International Trade Attorneys as Counsel to Domestic Steel Companies
Partners Kathleen W. Cannon and John M. Herrmann and senior associate Grace W. Kim were mentioned in the Law360 article “Commerce To Delay Decision On Duties For Chinese Steel.” The U.S. Department of Commerce will delay its preliminary countervailing duty determination in an investigation into allegations of unfair trade practices by Chinese producers of two stainless steel products. Commerce granted a postponement request by domestic steel producers who alleged in a petition that Chinese companies are receiving government subsidies and selling their stainless steel sheet and strip in the United States at less than fair value prices. The U.S. International Trade Commission recently issued its own preliminary determination in a concurrent investigation, saying there was a “reasonable indication” that domestic producers are being materially injured by Chinese companies and greenlighting the continued probe into the matter. The U.S. steel companies are represented by Ms. Cannon, Mr. Herrmann, and Ms. Kim.
