Kelley Drye Represents Creditors’ Committee in USA Discounters Bankruptcy

On September 1, 2015, Kelley Drye & Warren LLP was selected as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors (UCC) of USA Discounters Ltd., et al.  Kelley Drye was among several law firms presenting their credentials to the UCC.  On August 24, 2015, USA Discounters Ltd. and two affiliates filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The case is pending before the Honorable Christopher S. Sontchi.

Founded in 1991, USA Discounters Ltd. was a retail company that provided flexible financing options to high-credit risk consumers to purchase brand-name products including furniture, appliances, televisions, computers, smartphones, jewelry, and other consumer goods. USA Discounters Ltd. sold products at 24 USA Living stores and seven Fletcher’s Jewelers stores.  USA Discounters Ltd. closed all USA Living stores in August 2015 and is currently winding down operations of Fletcher’s Jewelers.
