Kelley Drye Represents Creditors’ Committee in RadioShack Bankruptcy
On March 17, 2017, Kelley Drye & Warren LLP was selected as counsel to the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors of General Wireless Operations Inc. DBA RadioShack. On March 10, 2017, the company commenced chapter 11 proceedings in the District of Delaware. This marks the second bankruptcy for RadioShack in less than two years.
The case is pending before the Honorable Brendan L. Shannon.
RadioShack traces its history back to 1921. Over the course of the last 100 years, RadioShack was on the front line of the personal electronics, computer and mobile phone industries. The company was acquired by General Wireless out of the company’s 2015 bankruptcy.
The Committee includes Brightstar US, Brixmor Property Group, Ideavillage Products, ION America, Protop International, Spectrum Brands, and Weide Electronics.
