Kelley Drye Recognized for Role in Development of New York Times Headquarters
The New York Times honored members of the Kelley Drye team involved with the development of the a 52-story New York Times Headquarters Building, to be located in the 42nd Street Development Area adjacent to Times Square. The Firm represented Forest City Ratner Companies (FCRC), one of New York City’s leading developers of office and retail space, in the transaction.
On completion, the Building is to be a condominium, with the New York Times Company to own approximately 800,000 square feet of space and FCRC, with its partner ING, to own the remaining 400,000 square feet of space.
The new headquarters was designed by renowned architect Renzo Piano, whose sketch appears below. Piano described the design as “an expression of love for this city and the values it represents.”
