Kelley Drye and MBM Intellectual Property Law Sponsor In-House Counsel Event at INTA Annual Meeting
Kelley Drye and MBM Intellectual Property Law sponsored an event that was held exclusively for in-house counsel during the International Trademark Association’s (INTA) 131st Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington. On May 19, 2009, more than 90 guests attended the annual reception, dinner and presentation of the 2009 Nathaniel Graves Sims Bowl Award, held at the Waterfront Seafood Grill on Pier 70.
John Bergin, chief trademark and copyright counsel of Avon Products, Inc., hosted the event which was attended by in-house counsel from companies in the cosmetics, fragrance, personal care, pharmaceuticals and luxury goods industries.
“The dinner continues to be a favorite event during INTA and attendance was strong despite the downturn in the economy,” said Mr. Bergin. “The attendees were especially grateful for the continued support by our great sponsors, Kelley Drye and MBM Intellectual Property Law of Canada. It is an uplifting event evidenced by the strong interaction of the professionals and their congenial spirit and the good will felt throughout the room.”
During the evening, the Nathaniel Graves Sims Bowl was presented to Lisa Gigliotti, vice president and chief trademark counsel at L’Oreal USA, Inc. The annual award is named after the former chief trademark and copyright counsel of Union Carbide Corporation. The winner is nominated by his/her peers and selected by a nominating committee. The Bowl, donated by Tiffany’s & Co., is awarded to and honors an in-house attorney for best demonstrating Mr. Sims’ professional qualities and reputation for respect, integrity, honesty, fairness and congeniality.
