Kelley Drye Achieves Successful Ranking in ALM 2012 Diversity Scorecard
The ALM 2012 Diversity Scorecard published in The American Lawyer (June 2012) online issue highlights Kelley Drye & Warren LLP’s success in its diversity efforts and programs. Kelley Drye’s diversity statistics are above the national figure and indicate that the firm continues to make progress in its diversity and inclusion efforts.
According to the scorecard, 13.6% of lawyers at the nation’s largest firms in 2011 were minority lawyers. However, the scorecard noted Kelley Drye has 18.5% minority attorneys, 5 percentage points over the national average.
In addition, Kelley Drye improved its diversity numbers, ranking 33rd in this year’s scorecard, up seven spots from last year’s ranking of 40th, compared with the 233 largest U.S. firms surveyed.
“Kelley Drye’s recruiting, training and retention of diverse attorneys have succeeded through our sustained efforts and programs,” said Sarah L. Reid, chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee. “We are pleased with these results as diversity has long been a commitment reflecting our core values and our belief that having attorneys with a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives strengthens the services we provide to our clients.”
