Kathy Cannon Quoted in Law360 Article on Steel Wire Imports Probe
Partner Kathy Cannon was quoted in the Law360 article “Commerce To Probe 15 Countries Over Steel Wire Imports.” The article discusses the U.S. Department of Commerce’s investigation into whether to hit steel wire products from 15 countries with anti-dumping and countervailing duties after U.S. manufacturers said they were being harmed by the unfairly priced imports.
U.S. manufacturers Insteel Wire Products Co., Sumiden Wire Products Corp. and Wire Mesh Corp. claimed in an April petition to Commerce and the International Trade Commission that the companies are being financially hurt by low-priced steel wire imports.
Kathy told Law360 that U.S. companies have taken a financial hit from the surge in foreign imports and had to lay off workers.
“The goal of the case is to restore fair trading conditions in the United States so that the U.S. producers and their workers can return to health,” she said.
