inMotion Commitment to Justice Honors Kelley Drye Volunteers
Kelley Drye was honored at inMotion’s Commitment to Justice Awards ceremony at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center on February 9, 2010. Associates Melissa E. Byroade and Jaclyn M. Metzinger received two Legal Team Awards for their pro bono representation of abused women seeking orders of protection, custody and/or divorce. The firm’s volunteers were also recognized on the program’s “Honor Roll” for giving their “compassion, time, energy and professional skills to help inMotion serve New York City’s most vulnerable families.” The volunteers included partner Robert E. Crotty and associates Jennifer A. Bedoya and Jennifer D. Raviele.
inMotion provides free legal and social services to low-income women. inMotion’s services are designed to address the unique needs of women who suffer from abuse and domestic violence, as well as live in immigrant communities that are isolated by language and cultural barriers. inMotion recruits, trains and mentors volunteer lawyers from New York City’s premier corporate law firms and private practices in matrimonial, family and immigration law. In 2009, more than 2,500 individuals volunteered at inMotion and donated over 74,000 hours of their time representing clients.
