Goldstein on Gelt Features Partner Ira T. Kasdan and Associate Elizabeth C. Johnson on Greenberg Settlement
Partner Ira T. Kasdan and Associate Elizabeth C Johnson were interviewed for the Goldstein on Gelt program “Social Security, National Insurance, and You.” The Greenberg Settlement is an agreement with the Social Security Administration not to reduce benefits to retirees who have been receiving support from the National Insurance Institute of Israel, or Bituach Leumi. The agreement came about from a class action lawsuit filed by Kelley Drye against the agency, after an erroneous windfall elimination policy had been preventing retirees from collecting their full social security. Mr. Kasdan and Ms. Johnson cover the details of the Greenberg Settlement and what it means for Americans living abroad.
