Bill Jackson Recognized as a 2025 Law360 Environmental MVP
Partner and Environmental practice co-chair Bill Jackson was named a 2025 Law360 Environmental MVP, after leading a first-of-its-kind series of bench trials between the state of New Jersey and multiple E.I. du Pont de Nemours entities over perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, contamination.
In his profile, Bill told Law360 that leading the PFAS litigation was “without question” his biggest accomplishment of the past year.
“I’m really proud of what we were able to do for New Jersey,” Bill said. “And frankly, I’m proud of our clients in New Jersey for getting in front of this and doing it in a way that allowed us to achieve these results.”
Bill also noted how proud he was of his team that worked on the New Jersey PFAS litigation, which included many young attorneys ranging from first to fifth year associates. “That whole exercise of training the next generation, the enthusiasm and passion of it, that to me was fabulous,” he said. “I’m happy and was very proud to be able to give them that opportunity.”
Bill’s litigation work continues, with another high-profile suit in progress. As lead counsel for the state of Maryland in its suit against the owners of the ship that struck and collapsed the Francis Scott Key Bridge. In this case, Kelley Drye is one of several firms working to determine the magnitude of damages.
“Putting people in those lanes [of focus] on these massive cases so that everybody’s got their role and responsibility and an opportunity to succeed is the best way I know to manage a case like this where there are so many moving parts,” he said.
