PepsiCo’s GC Tells Why Clients Demand Diversity

On March 29, 2017, Kelley Drye welcomed to the firm, Tony West, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Executive Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs of PepsiCo, as part of its Diversity Speaker Series.  In a luncheon presentation, shared by video conference across all Kelley Drye’s domestic offices, Mr. West spoke about the importance of diversity in the legal profession - to him personally and to corporations such as PepsiCo.  He acknowledged the compelling significance of diversity as a business imperative and gave examples from his own experience of the higher quality decision making that results from diverse teams; paramount, however, was the need for the legal profession, charged with administering justice for all, be a reflection of those it serves.  Mr. West’s presentation was very well received.
