MacLeod moderated the panel discussion, “Competition and Consumer Policy Predictions: Health Care after the Supreme Court; EU v US on Privacy.” The panel addressed the question: Which sectors will generate the headlines in regulation, enforcement and litigation? Two such sectors, health care and privacy & data security, were identified and discussed in detail
With respect to the health care sector, the panel provided unique insights into the consolidation, competition, quality changes and costs resulting from the Supreme Court’s decision in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act cases. Alternatively, the leading experts in the privacy and data security sector responded to looming challenges to domestic and global data management with the international tension created by proposals from the EU and the US.
