Partner Philip Robben was a panelist at the “International Law Institute and Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation: Workshop on Investor-State Arbitration” event in Washington, D.C. The presentation and panel discussion were part of a week long workshop on investor-state arbitration ILI created for members of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, an organization with members from 21 Pacific Rim countries which works for free trade and cross-boarder investment. Philip made a presentation on Article 42 of the ICSID Convention, which examines the choice of law provision of an international treaty governing the procedure for resolving investment disputes between host state governments and foreign investors.
