Kelley Drye & Warren LLP seeks a Law Clerk for the NY Office.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Serving and filing of litigation documents both in person and electronically for the various courts in which the firm practices. Travel to local courts and government offices to search for and retrieve files, file documents, and attend calendar calls. Assist the firm’s attorneys and support staff with compiling and preparing the final presentation litigation papers prior to filing. Answer emails and telephone calls from the firm’s attorneys and support staff. Perform research to locate information and documents using various online resources including LexisAdvance, Westlaw Next, CourtLink, CourtAlert, PACER and NYSCEF. Draft basic legal documents, including but not limited to Notices of Appearance and Affidavits of Service. Must be flexible to work overtime and travel to and from courts, agencies and other firms are required.

Minimum qualifications include: 1L or 2L law student enrolled in a part-time evening program. Ability and desire to develop an in depth understanding of the New York and Federal Court Systems and the concomitant procedural practices, laws and rules. Detail oriented and able to organize and prioritize issues. Excellent interpersonal skills for interaction with co-workers and court personnel. Ability to write and speak concisely.
