Kelley Drye & Warren LLP, a powerhouse firm with the heart of a boutique, is seeking a Strategic Pricing Technical Analyst in our New York office. This position will have a high degree of exposure with Firm Partners and executive committee members, and collaborate closely with the Director of Strategic Pricing, and the team’s other analysts. The Strategic Pricing Technical Analyst will play a core role in advancing and developing our quickly-expanding analytics program. They’ll be vital to delivering unparalleled data transparency, insights, and front-end user experience to partners and clients alike. Preexisting knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and DAX are strongly preferred.

The Strategic Pricing Technical Analyst will also be an essential player in mapping and understanding how to create a cohesive data ecosystem from multiple disparate sources, by collaborating directly with Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, and Marketing to ensure data is not only available, but consistent across the Firm. Further, they’ll need to have a passion and aptitude toward not only making data available, but presenting it in such a way where it’s attractive to look at, intuitive to use, and easily understood across all levels of financial fluency.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in maintaining our Reporting Strategy & Inventory to ensure the data being reported on is accurate, the reports we’re producing are still relevant, and all reports follow a consistent and intuitive user interface and design.
  • Assist with creating new reports and dashboards for consumption by the Strategic Pricing team, Partners, and Clients.
  • Conduct regular audits on team reporting offerings, following up with stakeholders on if the report is still meeting their needs, how it could be improved, and recommending updates to ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with Billing, Pricing and Accounting to evaluate the profitability of matters, practice groups, offices and estimate potential value of new engagements.
  • Review and distribute monthly and quarterly Pricing & Financial update reports for use by Firm Directors, and C-Suite members.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or another analytics related discipline.
  • Understanding of database design (SQL tables, relationship designs, etc.) with the ability to connect new data tables into our existing dataset architecture.
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, vlook-ups), SQL, DAX, ability to report out of a time and billing system database (prefer Aderant), and proficiency in analytics platforms (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.) SSRS (Paginated reports) experience a plus.
  • Power BI security/Row Level Security (RLS), working in a data pipeline, and Azure/Power Apps experience are beneficial.
  • Eye for design - ability to transform data into actionable, attractive reports, previous graphic design or user interface design experience will be beneficial.

The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in New York City if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD/technology) for example. New York City Salary Range: Low: $80,000 High: $95,000
