Lauri Mazzuchetti is a partner in the firm's Parsippany office. She focuses her practice on commercial litigation, consumer-oriented class action defense and employment litigation, including defense of discrimination, breach of contract and related claims.
Ms. Mazzuchetti represents telecommunications carriers in consumer and common law fraud class action cases in federal and state courts in a multitude of jurisdictions, and defends other consumer-oriented class action claims. She also represents clients in commercial and employment litigation in federal and state courts, both at the trial and appellate levels.
Representative Experience
Represented a long distance reseller in a putative class action alleging fraud and breach of contract and obtained a pre-answer dismissal of plaintiffs' claims on preemption grounds. Successfully defended on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court (plaintiffs' petition for certiorari denied).
Defending one of the nation's leading wireless carriers in various class action suits alleging consumer fraud claims.
Defending a magazine subscriptions services company in a putative class action alleging consumer fraud, breach of contract, fraud and unjust enrichment.
Represented a public corporation in a federal court action and obtained summary judgment dismissing plaintiff's wrongful discharge and discrimination claims. Successfully defended on appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Represented a major manufacturer of medical devices in two employment discrimination suits brought in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and obtained summary judgment dismissing all of plaintiffs’ claims in both, and prevailed on an appeal to the Third Circuit.
Represented one of the nation's leading diagnostic laboratory testing providers in a putative class action alleging negligence, consumer fraud and common law fraud, and obtained a pre-answer dismissal of plaintiffs' claims.
Represented a major U.S. retailer in a $2 million breach of lease suit and obtained summary judgment dismissing plaintiff's claims.
Represented a long distance reseller in multi-district litigation over allegedly improper sales practices and obtained a dismissal of plaintiffs' class action claims.
