Alexander Schneider specializes in information privacy and security, advertising and marketing, and consumer protection law. He provides clients with practical legal advice on compliance with federal and state privacy and consumer protection laws, particularly relating to market entry, rollout of new initiatives, ongoing due diligence, and corporate transactions. He is experienced in negotiation and drafting of cloud service, data processing, data integration, and e-commerce agreements. Alex represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and state attorneys general in investigations and inquiries into marketing, data privacy, communications, and cybersecurity issues.

Alex regularly counsels clients on the evolving landscape of data privacy and security laws. Alex has extensive experience advising on data protection laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), data breach notification laws, the EU ePrivacy Directive and cookie law, and global marketing laws.

In law school, Alex served as a legal intern in the Office of Commissioner Julie Brill at the Federal Trade Commission and in the United States Senate Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology and the Law (Chief Counsel Alvaro Bedoya).

Alex is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US).
