Partner Ira Kasdan’s article “Freedom Of Information Act: Revising Exemptions 4,6, and 7(C) to Better Protect Businesses’ Private Information” is featured in the April 2017 volume of Pratt’s Privacy & Cybersecurity Law Report. The article notes that the time has come to modify Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) Exemption 4 to better protect reputational harm and to combat the overall misuse of FOIA by activist groups. Ira also states that Exemptions 6 and 7(C) should be modified to extend “personal privacy” protection to corporations.
