Kelley Drye Stamford Volunteers Take on Pro Bono Matters for Children’s Organization
November 19, 2004
A group of Kelley Drye Associates and a Legal Assistant have been actively working on pro bono matters through Lawyers for Children America (LFCA). LFCA, which was established in 1995, recruits lawyers from large firms and in-house legal departments to provide pro bono legal services for abused and neglected children. LFCA volunteers advocate on behalf of their client child to ensure that the child’s wishes and best interests are taken into account by the court in making decisions concerning the child’s future custody and guardianship. They also ensure that the client’s health and welfare needs are being satisfied by the state agency charged with his or her care.
