Partner Michael Coursey was quoted in a San Francisco Chronicle article about the shrinking domestic garlic industry. Mr. Coursey explained the reason for the decline in
domestic garlic is that Chinese shippers have found ways to get around a tariff imposed on garlic that is meant to protect domestic garlic producers. He also explained that stopping
the illegal importation of Chinese garlic is a low priority to the U.S. Customs Service.
