Partner Paul Singer Featured in ABC 13 (Houston) Story on Texas AG Office

Kelley Drye’s Paul Singer was featured in a story by ABC channel 13 (Houston) on the consumer affairs division of the Texas Attorney General’s office. The article centers around the perceived lack of response” when consumers file complaints with the office. Singer, who previously served as the chief of the AG’s Consumer Protection Division, stated that one reason the division doesn’t respond to every complaint is because a consumer might alert them about something that’s a bad business practice, but not necessarily illegal or a violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. It’s not legal aid where you’re getting direct representation, it’s a state agency that is operating and represents the State of Texas and operates in the public interest very broadly.”
