New York Law Journal Reports on Success of NY Courts Commercial Division

In a New York Law Journal article regarding the progress of the Commercial Division of the New York State Supreme Court, Litigation Partner Robert L. Haig expounded on the Division’s accomplishments. As co-chair of the Commercial Courts Task Force, Mr. Haig has been instrumental in developing and expanding the seven year old program, which the NYLJ calls a virtually unqualified success.” According to the article, the program’s accomplishments have inspired a number of other states, including Pennsylvania, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island, to establish their own commercial sections, modeled on the New York system; a dozen other states now have business courts, and approximately ten more are considering them. Mr. Haig has advised many other states on creation of business courts and continues to be active in this area.
