Partner Kathleen W. Cannon was quoted in the Law360 article "5 Tips For Including Ex-Gov't Staffers On Trade Duty Cases." The article discusses how it can be helpful to for a private firm to have as part of its team someone who has worked at one of the government agencies, such as the ITC and Commerce in the U.S., that oversee those proceedings, according to trade attorneys. However, along with the benefits there can also be some ethics concerns and other potential issues. Ms. Cannon said that Kelley Drye often hired attorneys and non-attorney analysts who formerly worked at one of the trade agencies, explaining that "we were interested in them precisely because they had expertise. You have to do it with an eye to the ethical obligations and rules."
