Partner Gonzalo Mon was quoted in the E-Commerce Law & Policy article “Facebook joins battle against adblockers with policy changes.” Facebook recently announced changes to its adblocking policy, stating that it will continue to show ads on its desktop site, even where adblocking software that would ordinarily block such ads is being used. “Facebook acknowledges the frustration with ads, but doesn’t attribute that to ads, in general,” said Mr. Mon. “Instead, it thinks the frustration is driven by ‘ads that are irrelevant to [users] or that disrupt or break their experience.’ So while Facebook wants to remove a user’s ability to block ads, it has also decided to give them more control over the types of ads they get.”
