On May 11, 2017 members of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP’s Women’s group gathered to put together 30 gift bags for a local women’s charity group for Mother’s Day. The event helped support My Sister’s Place, an organization that provides confidential shelter, programs, education and advocacy for battered women and their children. Toshica Jones, Volunteer Coordinator from the shelter, came and spoke with the participants about the ongoing work and care that My Sister’s Place provides to the community. The Women of KDW worked together as they listened, to create beautiful gift bags full of lip gloss, nail polish, fluffy white hand towels, chocolates, gift cards and other goodies for the mothers and mothers-to-be. The colorful bags were delivered to the center the following day, to be distributed just in time for Mother’s Day weekend. It was a wonderful evening of giving, sharing, and brainstorming about further outreach projects with My Sister’s Place and other organizations whose focus is helping women in need.
