Kelley Drye Receives Volunteer Leadership Award

On March 7, 2018, Kelley Drye’s Chicago office received the Volunteer Leadership Award from the Active Transportation Alliance (Active Trans).  Kelley Drye has advised Active Trans on a variety of issues, ranging from commercial real estate leases to human resources advice to public policy research throughout the past four years.

At the 2018 Awards Reception, Active Trans also gave out the Community Leadership Award to Ken Griffin and the Business Leadership Award to Expedia. The evening included a welcome video from Mayor Rahm Emanuel, with an introduction from Chicago Department of Transportation Commissioner Rebekah Scheinfeld.

According to the organization, Active Trans benefits from pro bono legal services provided by Kelley Drye & Warren LLP’s Chicago office. The international law firm’s generous legal advice helps Active Trans stay focused on its mission while giving Kelley Drye a fascinating inside look at how the nonprofit works to improve walking, bicycling and public transit in Chicago.”

Partner Matt Luzadder said, Kelley Drye has a strong belief in giving back to the community. When Active Trans approached us and asked us if we could help them with a discrete matter, it was an easy decision to say, Yes, we can help you with that, and we can help you with other issues as well. We believe in Active Trans’ mission and wanted to give it as much support as we possibly could.”
