Partner Eric McClafferty participated in American Conference Institute’s ITAR Boot Camp on February 25, 2010. The conference explored the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and discussed how to implement and monitor an effective ITAR Compliance Program. The conference also provided an update on the latest regulatory and enforcement developments. Mr. McClafferty participated on a panel titled Enforcement and Penalty Overview: The Costs of ITAR Violations.” He discussed when a company or individual can be held liable for ITAR violations, how fines/penalties can be applied by the DDTC, and how export compliance programs should be structured to mitigate potential penalties, as well as many other topics.
