# New York’s Highest Court Clarifies U-5 Immunity

Kelley Drye’s Broker-Dealer Practice Group has prepared a client advisory describing the New York Court of Appeals’ decision declaring that employers in the securities industry have an absolute privilege against defamation claims for statements made on the forms that are filed with the NASD whenever a registered employee leaves that place of employment.
