# Mandatory AES Filing Rule for All Shipments Requiring Export Declaration Information

The U.S. Census Bureau recently changed the rules for government filings that must accompany all export shipments above $2,500. New civil and criminal penalties for non-compliance were also announced. All clients that export products are affected by this rule change. The rule will be implemented and enforced beginning September 30, 2008. Kelley Drye has prepared a Client Advisory providing additional information on the rule.
