Partner [Neil Merkl](/Our-People/Neil-Merkl) authored a chapter in *Commercial Litigation in New York State Courts, Fourth Edition* called ​“Social Media.” The chapter discusses social media’s use in the civil litigation process and the ethical boundaries governing its use, including how social media is relevant to investigating a case, disclosure, jury selection and the prosecution and defense of a civil case. Neil also reviews decisions addressing substantive law in New York to the extent social media behavior has affected forms of civil actions and cases arising from social media conduct.
